Shri Achyutananda Pati, one of the prominent literary persons of Odisha, was born to Shri Somnath Pati and Shreemati Haramani Devi of Naraharipur village of Jajpur district. He is a well-recognised and popular story-teller of the post-independence fiction era. A deep-seated aversion against untruth, injustice and blind-belief is the mainstay of his literary works. Through his writings, he has raised his voice against oppression and exploitation of the neglected masses by the powerful and the capitalists. For his lifelong selfless literary practice, Mr. Pati has been honoured with countless awards such as the Jagannath Das Atibadi Samman, Odisha Sahitya Academy Award, Jhankar Award, Sharala Award, Jadunath Das Mahapatra Saraswat Samman, Sarla Samman, Shikhar Samman and Gokarnika Award, etc.
