Shri Devprasad Das is a renowned writer and Odia novelist. He was born on February 24, 1966 in Dasvidyadharpur village in  the district of Puri. His father was Shri Balbhadra Das and his mother was Saraswati Das. He joined Odisha Administrative Service after graduating in Arts and Law. His first book was published in the year 1996, “Indradhanura Ranga”. Various emotional events happening in society were the foundation of his writings. Gajapathi", "Ama Samay", "Muhan", "Dukhar Ilaka O Anyanya Prabandha", "Jhia", "Danga", "Bhora", 'Desh Pardesh" were some of his notable literary works. He was honored with the Bhubaneswar Book Fair Award in 2004 and the Katha Award, the First Kishoricharan Story Award in 2007, and the Amritayan Story Award in 2012 for outstanding literary work.
