Odisha has always been a fertile ground for poetry. From that fertile ground of that world, Shri Khirod Parida is an eminent personality from Batipada village near Aali in Kendrapada district. He was born on March 21, 1956. His father was Shri Yadunath Parida & mother was Smt Jemamani Devi. He holds Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Master’s Degree in Arts and Commerce from the very famous Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. The first compilation of his poetry “AArohana” was published in the year 1995, gaining him a lot of admiration and popularity. Modernity or contemporariness in Odia poetry is said to have been ushered in the 1990s. Sri Parida has expressed his thoughts through poetry and as a poet; he is very keen to experience life to its emotional depth. He created engaging images of life and of love in diverse tunes.  For him, poetry is the recollection of his emotional tranquillity. With this exceptional throughout, he has gained fame and became a prolific writer, expressing his thoughts through poetry, short stories, novels, features, and translations. He voluntarily retired after working in the field of Human Resource Management Organisations.

"Sei Sudur Nai", "Shikha Shikhara", "Gandharba Kavita Guchha", "kebala Tamenira", "Ame Jaha Dekhu", "Nuhanyi Areka Pruthibi", "Shesha Lekha', "Hampira Shilakhanda", Andharare Bisharna Barnamala", "Lohita Nadira Dhare", "Nirbachita Galpa", "Rudali", "Adhaba' O "Tinikanya" etc are some of his notable works. For his top-notch skills he has been awarded with Barnali Anubad Award, Prajatantra Kavita Award, Jhankar Anubad Award, Sagarika Anubad Award, Brahmananda Das Smruti Anubad Award, Chalapath Award and etc.
