Famous public figure, educationist and literateur Shri Abani Kumar Baral was born to Shri Bhramarabara Baral of Haldiapada village under Jagatsinghpur district. Professor Baral was teaching literature at Khurda Prananath MahaBidyalaya, and retired as Principal of the College. He imbibed progressive thoughts from his school days and later became a member of the Communist Party of India. He made immense contributions to the development of the teachers community which he led for years. Revolutionary ideas, anti-superstition and anti-cult sentiments were the theme of his literary creations.
